Favorite memory of high school-  My favorite memories of my highschool years took place on the playing fields. I lived for sports, and was very fortunate to have played on several teams while attending YCMHS.
Friends that I may be looking to reconnect with-  It always neat to run into my former teammates/ classmates. Usually there is a story or two to tell. Often times made larger than life but none the less bringing back warm memories and a good laugh.  Some of the girls still live here in Yarmouth - others I connect with on facebook.  Was so pleased to run into Leslie Cook and Leila Fowler, and have a little tongue wag - hadn't seen those girls in years.
Information that I would like to share-  Was married soon after highschool to Glenn (class of 78) and we started a family right away. We have 5 children, Leslee born in 1982 is now a teacher at YJHS-She is married to Aaron. Ashlee, born in 1984 is in her first year of Dentistry at Dalhousie, Karlee has a degree from Saint Mary's and is now at UNB working on her education degree. Patrick born in 1990 is in grade 12, and Emilee is in grade 10. We have one grandson and another one due to arrive in April.  My children have been and or are active in sports.  They have all played various sports at various levels. Some of  my greatest joy has come from sitting in the stands cheering them on.  On the whole, life has been good to me. I was born a Viking - I will die a Viking!!!

Favorite memory of high school-  Had many, played on both basketball & volleyball teams.  Most favoriate memories are the times spent with Steve Brewer. It was crazy.

Information that I would like to share-  I have lived in Manitoba since I left Yarmouth in 1979. Actually finished High school here. I'am married to a great girl, her name is Karen. It will be 20 yrs for us this August. We have two great kids.Our daughter Megan is 17 in grade 11& our son Kellen is 14 in grade 8. We have been truly blessed. I have been in my current job for 22 yrs, and any body in the field of Emergency service, knows it has it's ups and downs so will leave it at that. Still hoping to get my family to Yarmouth one of these days. Take care All. Information that I would like to share-  The most memorable for me were the winter carnivals...colored snow sculptures,square dancing in the gym with Mr. McKinlay, the mascots up on the stage, I couldn't wait for noon time to go to the gym to see what was going on! I did not graduate from high school. In the 70's you were allowed to go to the "Vocational School" (now: Burridge Campus)after grade 10 which is what I did. There, I took a 2 year program (Business Education)from which I did graduate in 1979.

Favorite memory of high school-  My favorite memories are all connected to the friends I made. I still keep in touch with several on a fairly regular basis, and love to run into familiar faces when I visit Yarmouth. I also have fond memories of Linda Coakley's drama class, and of Bill Covert's Latin class (though I've forgotten how to conjugate most of those verbs).

Information that I would like to share-  In 2002, I moved to a beautiful town about 15 minutes west of Hartford, Connecticut. I worked at the Hartford Business Journal for three years. In March of 2006, I became editor of Hartford Magazine, a glossy monthly lifestyle magazine. I'm now editor of HM's sister publication, Connecticut Business Magazine and a new environmental publication called AllGreen Magazine. I live in Farmington with my 14-year-old daughter, Jenna. I also have a 20-year-old son, Jordan, who attends NSCAD. After a great 10-year reunion and 20-year reunion, the Class of 79 dropped the ball on the 25th. (Mea culpa.) If anyone's interested in putting together a -- gulp -- 30th, I have a huge list of names, addresses and numbers on my old Macintosh computer, which has been gathering dust since I moved here. (Don't worry, I'm sure it still runs.)

Favorite memory of high school-  Lunch break Volleyball games....High school was like being in an airplane waiting to take off...you are either anxious to get going, frustrated at the delay or settled in and relaxed, ready for the ride.

Information that I would like to share-  After graduation I spent almost two years at Yarmouth's Vocational school before I joined the Military. After retiring in 1998 I became a consultant for 6 years. I then joined the Public Service working in DND at National Defence Headquarters. The job is amazing...  After getting over the hurdles life throws at you I can now say my life is great... never got married, never had kids... just never met Mr. Right... met lots of Mr. Wrongs and didn't want to settle for Mr. He'll Do. As life has a way of changing directions in the blink of an eye, I'm sure one day I will be updating this information.  One last remark...  the hair styles in High School... what were we thinking???

Favorite memory of high school-  Special events in the gym, like square dancing and other winter carnival activities! And I really enjoyed my bag of chips, and pepsi, EVERY DAY at recess! Too many amazing memories...

Kelly (Christian) Blackler and Carol Latter and I have just started talking, via email, about planning a 30 year class reunion and would love to hear from anyone who might like to help us with this! Carol and I are many miles away, but the internet brings us all together in seconds - so cool!
Information that I would like to share-  After graduating from Dalhousie in 1982, Denyse (Pothier) Hines and I travelled through Europe for three months in the fall of 1983, which was an amazing experience! In 1984, I started a Bachelor of Public Relations Degree at Mount Saint Vincent - yes, yet more schooling! I met my future husband, Andrew Bourque, on the way to his brother's wedding rehearsal in June 1985 (well, I knew who he was before that, but I didn't really "know" him). We married in 1988 and Ainsley, our first daughter, arrived two weeks before our first anniversary. We were living in Halifax at the time, and three years later, we welcomed a second daughter, Chelsea. When Chelsea was only three months old, Andrew was transferred to Reno, Nevada and our "American adventure" began! What a major change for all of us! I couldn't legally work in the US at the time, so I became a stay-at-home mom, quite an adjustment for me! Three years later, our "American" baby boy, Graham, was born and our family was complete. Shortly before he was born, I became a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and was fortunate to get into the "rubber stamping" business just as it was taking off in a our area. I enjoyed success fairly quickly (although I worked VERY hard) and had a downline of over 200 demonstrators by the time we moved to the state of Washington in 1998. We now live in eastern Washington, in a desert climate (similar to what we enjoyed in Reno although we don't get anywhere near as much sunshine in the winter - drats). My kids are my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. My oldest was a student leader and a real smarty pants in high school and is now a freshman at the University of Washington in Seattle, still being a leader and a real smarty pants! She is also a really good kid and everyone loves her! Apparently, she looks like me, poor kid! Chelsea , our blondie, is 15 and is in 10th grade. She got her mommy's speed and maybe a little more as she finished 4th in the state last spring in the 100m hurdles and the three girls who beat her were in the 12th grade! She is an all-round athlete and was a starter on the varsity volleyball team this year. She also has a beautiful voice and has a real gift for music - she plays piano and violin, at school and in church. Graham, 12, is a doll - hard to explain it, really! He is so sweet, so good, and so NOT a typical middle schooler! He too has an ear for music and can find the harmony in almost any song at church - drives me nuts! He has had lead roles in two musicals since we "discovered" he could sing - we had no clue he could sing until he was 10! He just finished playing the role of John in Peter Pan and got to fly - it was painful (he had to wear a harness) but worth it! The last show had more than 500 people in attendance, so we're thankful he doesn't suffer from stage fright! My days are spent "managing" all aspects of family life and I am involved, as a volunteer, in lots of "things" at the high school. Each year, I organize a Practice SAT testing session at the school, and I am getting ready to do that again. It's a big job but well worth it! We try and get back to Yarmouth every year, but this summer was too crazy for us (with the kids' many activities) but we will be there for a week at the end of June, early July 2008.
