The YCMHS Class of ’87 20-year reunion will be held Aug. 3-5.

Schedule of events: 
Friday, Aug. 3:- 7 p.m. Registration, meet and greet at Boston Pizza
Saturday, Aug. 4- 10 a.m. Memorial tree planting to honour grads who have passed on.

-12 to 5 p.m. Family beach party and barbecue at Port Maitland Beach (we’ll have a backup plan in case of rain)
-9 p.m. Dance at the Golf and Country Club
 Sunday, Aug. 5- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Family brunch

Favorite memory of high school-  Many great memories of high school, some not so great like grade 11 and 12 honors math, what was I thinking? Great memories...all of the great friends I made, that was the best part.

Information that I would like to share-  After high school, attended Saint Mary's University for a couple of years and then decided to go into the workforce. Worked in Halifax as an Office Manager and Part Owner of a private therapy practice until my oldest was born. Let to raise my kids. Favorite memory of high school-  Prom night, Grad night, Mr. Lesser, and Mr. Covert who actually convinced me to go to university in the first place - in one of our Grade 12 Latin classes!!  There was no Latin session that day - it was all figuring out how to get a last minute university application completed for Wendy.  Stacey LeBlanc was a big support too.  Mr. Lesser, in your class I always did the work to prepare for oral presentations and then had another project team member do the presentations.  You said that you hoped I would eventually do a presentation someday.  My current job now requires that I speak in front of larger audiences!!  I'm finally doing it!!
Friends that I may be looking to reconnect with-  Time flies by so quickly with our everyday lives and schedules.  I'm often in touch with Tina Comeau, so I usually get the scoop on what's going on in town.  I live only 1.5 hours from Julie Plamondon and we do not see each other near enough - it's been a few years.  It would be nice to reconnect with Stacey (LeBlanc) Walsh.
Information that I would like to share-  I married Marc Boisvert, in 1994, who I meet in Yarmouth, but is from the Ottawa region.  We have two boys, Brady and Eric, born in 1996 and 1998.  We moved from Yarmouth to the Ottawa region in 2000 for Marc's work.  I found employment as a public servant - I am a Strategic Financial Planning and Oversight Manager for the Canada Border Services Agency or "Agence des services frontaliers du Canada".  Oh yeh, I can speak French now too!!  My kids are completely bilingual (French being their "first" language) and they have lots of fun correcting me!!

Favorite memory of high school-  My favorite memory would be hanging around with my friends(oh the memories....the fun we had) The Yellow Notebook stands out in my mind (only Tina will understand) but we did fill up the pages.....was so funny( I still have it tucked away....Hahaha)

In my line of work I am in contact with a wide range of people, I will reintroduce myself to fellow students and teachers ,just to say hello and its great to see you 20 years later and yes we have all " aged and grown up"...haha. Information that I would like to share-  I went to NSCC for three years after high school and took accounting and then business computer programming.  In 1991 I married Tyler Lyons.  We have a 15 year old daughter named Leigh-Ann and an 11 year old son named Nick.  We moved to Calgary in 1997 and became die-hard Calgary Flames fans lol!  In 2004 we got tired of working our lives away to put all that Alberta cash into someone else's pockets and we started our own business and started putting it in our own.

Favorite memory of high school-  The days of "Animal Ball" that a bunch of us guys played at noontime everyday...until it was banned. It was a rough and tumble time as we nearly killed one another playing a mix of basketball and football. We would play hard and bruises were everywhere but we had a fantastic time and whenever a bunch of friends hook up here in Toronto, I tell the stories of that game we played in grade 12 and we start our own version. It's alot of fun, but the roots are in Yarmouth High...where "Animal Ball" was invented.

Information that I would like to share-  Life over the past 20 years has been great.
 I have travelled to places I never thought I would go and I ended up here in Toronto in 1993. Been married to my beautiful wife Soraya for 11 years and I am happy as ever. The times I get back to good ole Novie though are special to me. You can take the man out of Nova Scotia but you can NEVER take the Nova Scotia out of the man.  It's always good to visit your roots and those that shaped the ground you walk on. Yarmouth High was one of those places that shapes part of you forever. Great friends, great memories.

Favorite memory of high school-  Definitely not that Grade 11 'new' math that I spent about 16 hours studying for when the exam rolled around.  I guess I'd have to say the social part of high school – grad committee, winter carnival, etc... writing the mascot story about Carlos la Cucaracha with Fraser, decorating the gym for the prom (remember all those metalic blue and silver stars?), our carnation day fundraiser and all those hundreds of pictures I snapped before I was a real photographer. (I still don't know why I never signed up for yearbook committee, one of my regrets.) Outside of school: the parties we used to throw that mom and dad didn't know about. Amazing how many people will drive to Meteghan for a party at Al's camp. Our daily afternoon drives through the McDonald's drivethru for an icecream cone after school. Remember those Stacey and Matthew? I think you guys each owe me $85 for soft serve and gas for the car. Fraser and Robert's rendition of Dancing in the Streets by David Bowie and Mick Jagger, and even Craig Boudreau's out-of-sync George Thorogood lip syncing.
Friends that I may be looking to reconnect with-  Everyone since we'll be planning our 20th reunion in 2007. Looking forward to getting together again with our 10-year reunion committee, and anyone else fool enough to get involved. Scott Murray if you're out there, I miss you bunches. You too Dave Boudreau. To Stacey MacKinnon, I promise to be a better letter writer. And of course I still have a soft spot for all my former Arcadia elementrary school alumni that made the 13-year journey with me to high school graduation – Kelly, Daniel, Burton, Heather, Chris, Terry...and the list goes on and on.
Information that I would like to share-  I've been working as a reporter/photographer at the Yarmouth Vanguard since May 1990 and serve as editor when required. I am also the associate editor of Transcontinental Media's Fundy Division (our Yarmouth, Digby, Shelburne and Liverpool newspapers) which means when the managing editor is away, I'm in charge. Got married to a lobster fisherman, Greg, in 1994 (free seafood for life!!) Have two boys Jacob and Justin. It took me three years of minor hockey but I finally understand what off-side means. Still can't drive a standard.

Information that I would like to share-  I have been married to my High School/Sea Cadet Sweetheart, Greg Flemming (from Pembroke) for 14 1/2 years now. Greg has been in the Navy for 19 1/2 years so that kept our lives interesting and busy. We live in Beaver Bank which is about 7 km from Lower Sackville and 30 km to Halifax. We have a wonderful 13 year old daughter, Alicia (who is also in Sea Cadets). I have been working at Scotiabank for nearly a year. I am a Cust. Service Officer. Between a Teller and Personal Banking officer. Before that, like most people in Yarmouth, I worked at Register.com. Being there was like a YCMHS reunion!! (family reunion for me!) I am still involved with Sea Cadets and have been an Officer since 1989. RCSCC #92 Chebogue, Yarmouth will always be the best!! I still go to Yarmouth every month or so to visit my family but hardly see anyone from the Class of 87. This website is a great idea. I was registered with classmates.com but they decided to start charging money for use of the site.

We moved to Bar Harbor in 1994.With the support of Linda (she pays all the bills)I  started a small contracting business in 2003.Its going fine.  I miss home dearly but life takes you in unspecified direction,  hopefully always for the best. Information that I would like to share-  Since high school, I have attended Acadia University for a couple of years, then left to work in the office at my family's fish plant.  I am now a self-employed bookkeeper and work in a small office on Main Street in Yarmouth.  I live in Deerfield and am married to a fisherman.  We have four children, three are girls aged 17,11 and 9 and one boy, 14. We are very busy toting them to hockey, soccer, dance etc. I am also an active member of my church, Pleasant Valley Baptist where I act as Treasurer.  Looking forward to the 20th Reunion this summer!

Favorite memory of high school-  Hmm, all the stories seem to relate to racing underpowered cars to the lighthouse with Pat, Jim, Dave, Val, Ann, Greg and Dwayne. I'm sure there are other stories that Michele, Kristin, and Marni could fill in....
Friends that I may be looking to reconnect with-  it would be good to hear from anyone unless they are trying to sell me something (god, amway, insurance...etc.)
Still keep in contact with several friends in NS. Even after they try to change their names, phone numbers and addresses, I still find them. My lawyer and parole officer have both strongly suggested that I mention that I'm just joking.
Information that I would like to share-  After studying for years I finally listened to my family and took Journalism at SAIT. After I graduated from Photojournalism I quit my day job and started shooting and teaching photography for SAIT (to get some form of twisted revenge I guess) and for Chinook Learning.  Lots has changed over the past several years but some things have stayed the same. I think that's the same for everyone though.  The voices in my head have reminded me that I will be back in Yarmouth sometime around the end of July 2007 to sometime in August 2007.  Look for the Kawi dual-sport with AB plates, that will be me (please don't run me over though).

Information that I would like to share-  Have been living and working in Toronto now for about 8 years doing makeup & effects in film and television after going to school and living for awhile in Florida.  I am based in Toronto but have traveled as far away as Spain for a movie.  Some of my credits include My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Dawn of the Dead, Cinderella Man, 16 Blocks and Killshot.  Received Hollywood Makeup Artist Guild award 2003 for My Big Fat Greek Wedding.  Having an amazing time meeting and working with some extraordinary people such as Ron Howard, Jamie Foxx, P. Diddy and Bruce Willis.  This past year I did American Pie/The Naked Mile - which was a blast, The Company with Michael Keaton, Chris O'Donnell, Lars and The Real Girl with Ryan Gosling and just finished a Quentin Tarantino movie, - Killshot (trailer on IMDB)- with Diane Lane, Rosario Dawson, where I did the makeup for Mickey Rourke and Johnny Knoxville.  One memorable moment was when I was working on Cinderella Man and partied all night with Russell Crowe - good time.

Favorite memory of high school-  cruising through town with Kelly, Tina's camp parties, school dances and "Pink Canadian Champagne", Mr. Killams physics class and his choice of words "Cumbersome" and "Careful"  (remember Kell when he caught us passing a note?), camping at Ellenwood, grad party with the big tire bonfire on the beach, getting hit in the face with a volleyball by the coach and he laughed.. Information that I would like to share-  After high school, moved to Halifax and went to Dal and got my sociology degree, had a brief stint in France before going back to school and getting a diploma in Tourism.... Worked in the Tourism industry for 9 years before moving onto the Education industry... have been working at a massage therapy school in Halifax for 8 years, now working as the Registrar of the school.  My parents moved back to the valley when I was at Dal so now when I go "home" I go there and therefore do not get to see Kelly as much as I would like, but I get there a few times a year, and will be back this summer to defend my Washer Tournament title.....  Love life in Halifax....... All is good........

Information that I would like to share-  After high school I took the electrical wiring course at the vocational school in Yarmouth. After that I got a job at Germains Mechanical and Electrical for about 8 years. Then went back to school for an electronics course and then moved to Ottawa about 10 years ago.   I got married back in 1991 and we have a daughter who will be graduating high school this year (I guess that means that I am getting old). I usually make it back to Yarmouth every summer fro a vaction. I was not able to make it to the 10 year reunion, but I am looking forward to the 20th reunion.

Favorite memory of high school-  You probably won't remember me; but fun was going to Math class or attending the numerous noon hour activities. Example were cafeteria, library, video club, winter carnival, starving artists, and christian fellowship.etc... What really is good; I don't have to listen for the P.A. system screeching out my name at least once or twice daily anymore.

Favorite memory of high school-  They're all good!  Guess I filtered out all the bad ones over the years - physics, chemistry, Fraser Mooney.  I'm just kidding!  I liked physics (figuring out how fast Fraser would hit the ground if I pushed him out of a plane) and chemistry (blowing stuff up, preferably Fraser's stuff).  Seriously, Yarmouth was a pretty nice spot to grow up and my friendships that began at YCMHS have endured throughout the years, despite not being able to stay in touch as often as I would like - something called life got in the way!  Our 10 year reunion was an absolute blast.  Thanks to all who organized (then and now) and to all those alum who made the effort to attend.  Seeing folks, many of whom I saw (and actually enjoyed seeing) each and every day during high school, for the first time in 10 years was a real treat.  The too coo hall crew, Mr. Covert's Latin mafia, seeing Father Glen all the way up from sunny Florida - one of the few who actually did what he always said he was going to do in high school, Gary d'Entremont - soooo distressed that I was somehow mericulously taller and had more hair left than he (although I honestly think it all started happening well before high school ever ended, his recollection differed from mine and I was more than happy to oblige).  And I could not believe the number of people still living in and around Yarmouth that I somehow never ran into, even once, despite being back in town two or more times a year... has our small town grown up? or is it just that nobody cruises the Dairy Queen anymore?  Now that I think about it, other than the occasional chat with Kelly Pero who still seems to hang out there, I am often chillin' solo in the parking lot these days - blasting Honeymoon Suite's "Wave Babies" on my Alpine stereo....  Anywho, doing my best to be there for our 20th and hope to see many of you there!

Information that I would like to share-  After High School I graduated from a brick building.  To be more specific a place called the Centre of Geographic Sciences, in Lawrencetown, Annapolis County with a piece of paper relating to Planning Technology.  Began my career, which is a fancy name for a job that lasts beyond UI requirements, with the Town of Kentville working as their Planning/Development Technician (a.k.a. whipping boy) for approximately three years.  Indeed had them fooled about myself for the longest time.  Good memories in the Valley, well except for that one time but then I digress.  Was later encouraged by two men in uniform to relocate to another province (insert shock), and was hired by the City of Saint John, New Brunswick in 1993 as their Planning Officer (ok a slightly higher paid whipping boy but with the keys to the washroom!).  Much to their chagrin I have refused to leave, and rather enjoy giving developers and property owners a really hard time about everything.  Some time during all this I apparently married a local girl named Charmaine (Vickery) back in 1992, and to both our horror we now find ourselves raising two teenagers - Meghan (14) and Matthew (12). :O  Enjoy lots of things and hate the other stuff.  Gardening, reading, and mindless gaming with the kids (or even better gaming with no kids around), long walks on the beach, and crying when watching sad movies.  What this isn't one of those dating sites?  Now I just feel silly.   [Disclaimer:  The above information may be factual or not.] Hoping to attend the 20th Class Reunion and seeing the old gang.  Personally I feel much too young myself so I'm considering this event to be just my 19th Class Reunion. Well must be going; it's quitting time at work in about an hour and I want to be early to bet the rush.  Darn too late.  Toodles!

Information that I would like to share-  I live in Freeport (down on the island). Don't ask me why I came here...it's a long story, but I do love it here. I met my husband, Tony in 1995 and we married in October of 1997. We have 2 boys, Matthew 7 in grade 1 and Dawson 6 in primary. My oldest son, Bryan 18,is graduating high school this year. I also have 4 step children. The twins (Tony/Tess are 19 and in university , Trent 17 and in grade 11, and Thor is 15 and in grade 9)  I do my husbands bookwork and stay at home with my children. When I'm needed I wind up on the boat, fishing. I also bait trawl(YUK!). Hubby is a lobster/longline fisherman.  I do a lot of Volunteer work for the community, and for the school. I'm a basketball, cross country, badminton, and Track & Field mom. I also coach Track & Field.  Can't wait until the reunion to re-connect with everyone!
